New York Giants Tiki Barber sounds off!!!!

Wow, it's pretty unlike Tiki Barber to criticize his team in any way... so I was pretty surprised to see him speak out against the play-calling, saying he felt the focus on passing the ball against Jacksonville was a sure way to lose the game.

On the other hand, I can't blame him because I agree with him. There's no reason to have only 14 running plays throughout the entire game. The only other time I remember Tiki speaking out was last year's play-offs when he said they were outcoached by Carolina. I agreed with him then, too.

Never been a big Coughlin fan, it would appear that his style of coaching (or lack there of) is sucking the life out of this team. I've never heard a coaching bring more openly critisized than Coughlin has been.

If they're waiting for young Eli to step up an lead this team, they'll have a long wait. He just isn't mature enough as a QB to handle that burden, not this year.

Tiki's right.

League shoulda allowed the Giants 6 downs instead of 4.

That way at 2 yards a pop, we could've gotten a whole lot of first downs and controlled the clock to keep our depleted defense off the field.

Tiki now, Eli soon

Eli Manning is most likely going to be nearly the quarterback his brother is and definitely one of the best QB's in the league. Caughlin may not be the right man to put that into play, though. Right now, the Giants move the ball as much with Tiki as with anyone, and he is a talented back. The Giants have a good passer though, and some good tall WR's, and one gifted loudmouth TE. Even a subpar quarterback (ie. Kerry Collins, Kurt Warner) should be able to succeed with their talent. But I don't blame Eli.

The giants coaching staff has been under fire all season long...... Eli is going to be a great QB[fingers crossed]..... Tiki is going to retire at end of year..... they need to make the playoffs and superbowl this year for tiki but if coughlin doesnt call plays to get shockey and tiki going early there is not going to be a Bettis like finish to the Giants year..... how do you not use the number one RB in the NFL more than 14 plays in a whole game i have to agree that is DUMB and if coughlin cant figure that out he does need to be replaced.......especially since his son in law has the most penalty yards on the team....

Why do I always hear that "Eli is going to be a great QB Eli is going to be a great QB". Philip Rivers IS a great QB right now and the only AFC team I'm worried about is his San Diego Chargers. Eli isint really tall, isint really fast, throws too many picks, misses open recievers, and has an all star supporting cast. If Eli doesnt miraculously become a "great" QB this season and get them to the playoffs, is becomes isint. I truly feel sorry for the heart of that ball club (Strahan, Barber, Shockey) because with a QB who doesnt go out and lose games this is a super bowl bound team.

you're delusional! i've been familiar with eli since his collegiate days. the kid was WAAAAAAY OVERRATED coming out, and is still overrated now. people are holding out, and HOPING that he can be remotely close to being like peyton. the only reason he's not already holding a clipboard on sundays is because of this futile hope. if elisha's last name were anything, but manning, marino, montana, unitas, favre, aikman, elway, or gabriel, he would've never gotten a start.

Conspiracy therorists time to come out of the woodwork something dawned on me when did Tiki make the comments???? not thursday or friday the normal day he greets press but wed. normally Eli's press day hmmmm did coughlin let Tiki become the lightening rod for the press this week to get the NEWYORK media crush off his Qb what exactly were his comments kinda similar to end of last season which coughlin deflected and since Tiki is retiring at end of year not a bad person to have thrown under bus to take some of pressure off Eli.

LMAO.

Who knows? It certainly did take the media off Eli's case. If he plays well today and the Giants win, you're the next Oliver Stone.
