New York Giants Giants For Real

Whos with me in saying that the Giants will go deep this year. They have a very good offence(Manning, barber, shockey, burress),and a improved stellar defence(Strahan, arrington, umenyiora, wilson).
Just look at this team http://www.nfl.com/teams/depthcharts/NYG
Bash me or agree with me.I dont care.

They had better do better against the run than their starting defensive tackles did last night.

They look good on paper. Not a big Coughlin fan, however. I'm excited to see what Kiwanuka can do.

I've said in other threads that i think they can go all the way. So much offense, and there defense has the potential IMO to assure them the division and to hold other teams through the playoffs.

I'm going to get ripped for this, but I don't think Eli is ready YET to take this team to the Super Bowl, much less a SB victory. The peices are there, but I still need to see a lot more from Manning before I can say the G-Men are Super Bowl bound.

I think a Division Title is appropriate, although I expect the NFCE to be improved in every aspect.

I will agree with you that Eli isnt the great QB...........YET.However when you have Shockey, and burress to throw to,that can make him better.Especially I like shockey who can make the big catch, and can help the kid out(being the vet).

I have the Giants representing the NFC in the superbowl provided they stay healthy and the offensive line plays consistently.

I think all the talk of a superbowl appearance may be a bit premature, imo. (As much as it pains me to say it.) They still have to play against a very tough division, and that 1st place schedule is not exactly a cakewalk. I would be worried about whatever team wins the nfc east being beat up come playoff time.

Right now, I realistically have them pegged to win the east and one playoff game. I really dont think you can ask for much more from Eli as far as his progression goes.

I agree. They have a lot of weapons on both sides of the ball. I think we'll learn a lot about this team in the first three weeks leading up to their bye week. Very tough schedule.

QFT

The fact that they play in what might now be the best division in the NFL, combined with their tough out-of-conference schedule, makes it a tough road for the G-Men.

I expect a lot of questions to be answered early on: Eli's capabilities, whether or not Tiki can repeat 05, etc.

I get the feeling that Manning and Buress might not be on the same page this year, at least, when compared to last year's stats. This team's a little overated IMO.

I think if the G-Men stay healthy - particularly Manning, Shockey, LA, Barber, and Strahan - they will go deep in the playoffs. The team has pretty good depth too.

The Super Bowl is within grasp.

Same here. While their sched is certainly no cakewalk, the fact is that every other team they play are looking at the Giants as an imposing opponent when they play them.

They're the team to beat. I think every NFC East team will finish 10-6 or better.
