I have been here awhile and I quit comin for awhile cause some of the people were jerks but I came back cause my brother stuck around so I thought it must be ok.... when I first joined there were a lot more people postin but now since I came back it is a ghost town... i dont know what to do besides spam

Well, you could always join another football/sports forum for the time being. I'm not trying to take away from this site but, personally, i joined this one and one other board back in August i believe. I ended up sticking with the other one because these boards seemed less active.

Recently though, i've been trying to post here more but it just seems like the same 8 or so people are the only active posters.

You knew I'd be around at some time... I just don't have much to say. I didn't have the Jets winning and I'm not vested in the Cowboys win, even though it was a long time coming!

Hey... What about making the site members only? I'm always seeing upwards of 10 guests veiwing the site... Maybe restricting their access here would result in them registering... Once registered, why not post something... Maybe?

Seeing how nobody that has enough power to do anything is still active, why don't we (as a group) just make/start our own football forums? I know I for one could be relied on and i'm sure there are a few others who could say the same.

Just a thought but seeing how this place has turned into a ghost town, it doesn't seem like there would be anything to lose by taking all of the active members here and migrating to a new board that we can actually control and run on an active basis.

A few things.

Realize that some of the "guests" could be search engine spiders and not actual people. Secondly, making our own forum is fine but know that it won't have the publicity that this one has and won't bring in people from google or any other search engine for that matter because it is new.

I also notice quite a bit of spam here and it's clear the admin of this forum isn't doing much about it.

I think this forum is fine!

Haha, I actually found this place on Google too. I've wanted an extra place to talk about football. IMO it's better to allow guests to see everything. If they like what they see, they'll join. If they can't view anything, then I see no reason why they'd bother.

Wouldn't work.

People would leave simply because like Rising Sun said they can't see anything. Scare tactics don't work on forums.

Best way to attract newbies is firstly post on a constant basis even during off season. Secondly, be nice. Nothing makes a community worse than veteren posters acting like asses.
