How Good will Jimmy Clausen be?

Touted as the best quarterback in ages, this prospect seems to be something special. In the offseason while practicing with coaches and other professional qb's, he performed favorably and had higher skill sets then most.

how good you think his real potential is? (of course barring injury)

I'm assuming he is related to the other college QB's named Clausen, but I could be wrong.

In regards to him being better then pro QB's in practice, this may be true but practice is FAR FAR different from a game situation. Many QB's have had all the physical tools and looked great in practice but when it comes to making split second decisions when games are on the line that is when we will see how good he really is. I don't buy into any of this hype these elite high school athletes get as until they prove it in college it means nothing.

So basically for me until I see him play a college game it is hard to determine his potential.

Yeah he is the brother of Casey Clausen. However he is much more talented and has a much better skill set then his brother.

Check his HS numbers. They are astonishing. The guy will be a stud... not that everyone didn't know that already.

I've heard of him.

Looks like he will be big in College and eventually the pros.

Being a Notre Dame fan, I'm excited but a little skeptical too, afterall, the last quarterback with this much hype was Ron Powlus and we all know how that turned out, although a pocket quarterback playing for Holtz wasn't going to work regardless of the talent. They're calling Jimmy the LaBron James of football, which I think is a little excessive to say the least.

He has two brothers both played for UT, Rick and Casey and both boast Jimmy as the best of the 3.

Breaks his leg in his first practice at ND, reports will indicate a visor was seen spraying the field with a water hose. Will never play in college.

I am been reading about this kid..he is on the cover of a High School football magazine. But, I will never comment on a kid who has not even colpeted one season of college football.

make no doubt about it he is a talented athlete but ..... he has a ego that is huge discusting actually ..... he has made a high school career along with his team mates (also very talented) beating up on very small schools in the area. His first real challenge will be on sept 22 in a game that will be televised nationally. This game should provide some indication on how his future may become .....
