My Highlight Video

YouTube - Keegan Rush Highlight Reel 2007

This is from my Sophmore & Junior year. Half of the plays are from my Sophmore year when I had a weaker arm. So if you think I have a weak arm in alot of the throws, that is the reason. Im being recruited by Virginia, UCONN, Mizzouri, Colorado, Duke, and a handful of Division 2 schools. Concordia in Minnesota is about to offer me (D2).

I was ranked the #55 Underclassman QB in the country this year. Im 6'3'' 215 and I was #2 at the EA Sports Golden Gun Accuracy Challenge out of the 95 QB's at the Elite 11 Regional Camp at Georgia Tech 3 weeks ago.

Nice man, hahaha at 54 seconds some guy in the crowd yells out "F*CK!!" when you make a pass, I laughed a little bit, then cried, then laughed again.

LOL - i should watch that again but it seems to me that your left side folds-over like a cheap suit more times than not.

Great scrambing abililty and great decision making under pressure.

Being a former QB and a student of the position, I wanted to share my thoughts with you.

First off, Great job on the Accuracy competition and the Elite 11 is definately something to continue pursuing.

Second, if you can upgrade the video camera it would do wonders as there were alot of times the video was to grainey to be of use.

Thoughts after watching the video a couple times,:
You have a great throwing motion.(straight to the point, no windup, and over the top vs. any side arm action)
You also did a good job of what I assume was zone reads (reading half a field at a time vs reading each WR/Defender) as well as making good decisions under pressure (it's a highlight video, of course your not showing the mistakes you made... ) You also have the ability to scramble when you need to which is good.

The only thing that really stood out like a sore thumb, to me, was your footwork. Your drop back was very slow and elongated. When I was being mentored and from what I've been taught, the motion should be very quick and purposeful. Since you work out of the shotgun, you don't have as much pressure to get back in the pocket as quick as you would if you were working under center, but that may be something to concentrate on as you go into the next level.

Other then that, you looked good. You have a strong arm with a good release point and an accurate arm. It was hard to tell how much spin you were putting into the ball and how quick your snap was as you released, and if that's something you want to work on, I would suggest taking a 2" thick dowl, drilling a hole through the middle, running a rope through it and knotting one end around a 5 or 10lb weight and the other so the rope doesn't slip through the hole. Then take the dowl and hold it arms length infront of you at a 90* angle with your body and twist the dowl with your writsts so that you roll the rope around the dowl and lift the weight off the ground until it's touching the dowl itself. This will build your forearms up giving you a better snap as you release the ball which will give you a better spiral and a harder thrown ball. Just a thought...

Like I said, great job overall and you've got a bright future.

The camera quality is amazing on my dad's computer. The only reason why it looks so bad is because Youtube won't allow him to upload it at the correct frames per second.

Good point, I'm not familiar with the uploading standards on Youtube so I apologize if my comment about your camera came out the wrong way... I was merely expressing the difficulty I had at times being able to see what was really going on

The first thing that i noticed is that you have great footwork, your drop looked great. I also liked your checkdowns and your ability to sell the run off of playaction.

I find some the schools that are recruiting you to be accurate fits for your style particularly Mizzou, UCONN and Virginia. You seem to fit there style to a T.

Just out of curiousity, what is your 40' time?

Not bad bud, looking good. You should make sure your team mates go to the ball instead of waiting for it to come to them, good defenses love that because it's easy picks. But good stuff non the less.
