Hey guys I'm thinking about trading off Shaun Alexander after his poor display against Detroit (3.20 points). I think the loss of Steve Hutchinson is going to hurt him a lot more than people think.
I've looked over all the teams and come up with these packages that I would consider if the other GM agreed. Chad Johnson and Rudi Johnson Steve Smith and Willie Parker Marvin Harrison and Cadillac Williams Hines Ward and Edgerrin James Chris Chambers and LaMont Jordan Plaxico Burress and Clinton Portis Please give me some advice on what I should do and if any of these packages are good or bad. Thanks a lot. |

If the other GM's bite, I'd make these trades:
Chad Johnson and Rudi Johnson - No, only cause i dont like having WR n RB from the same team Steve Smith and Willie Parker - Yes, both great players Marvin Harrison and Cadillac Williams - Yes, Harrison has a couple years left in him and Cadillica will be around for a long time. Hines Ward and Edgerrin James - No, I think Edge is going to have a tough season in ARI. Chris Chambers and LaMont Jordan - No, Oak O Line look like crap last night, i'm looking to trade Jordan in my league. Plaxico Burress and Clinton Portis - Yes, if Portis is health both are great guys to have |

1.Parker/Smith The only one I would really be keen on doing would be Steve Smith and Willie Parker, but you still have to hope he is primary guy inside the redzone which I don't think he is. Smith can be primary anything....he is always involved one way or the other. Parker plays on a run first team and will always get more than enough touches possessing his big play abilities every game. 2. Williams/Harrison I'd consider this one mainly because with Edge gone and Indy's run suffering it is good times this year for Harrison, top tier WR. Cadillac is going to be really special, whether or not he can produce the same way Alexander can or did is still to be seen. We do know TB has a similar style of Pitt and will see a lot of carries. Cadillac has huge potential and should have no problem hitting his peak. 3. C. Johnson/R. Johnson Cincy is a great team now, if Palmer is healthy. Not terribly bad as individually to the other deals these two are equal if not arguably greater. It all comes back to all the eggs in one basket. You put a lot of faith in the whole offence to click. That is why this deal is third and one I wouldn't do. 4. Burress/Portis Burress will get a lot of looks and the Giants offence can produce yards weekly with Manning looking better every game. Portis' and his injury knock this deal down for me, if you are going to get a solid return you shouldn't trade for one coming off injury especially when you are throwing name like Alexander around. 5. Ward/James Ward is a solid receiver but the lost Randle El which leaves lots of pressure on Ward....Pitt is a run first team and Big Scrambled Ben isn't known for throwing 300 yard games. Out of the 6 receivers he is easily rated the lowest. James plays for Arizona and that hurts him, I wouldn't even considered it if I was offered it. 6. Chambers/Jordan Chambers isn't my concern, he is a stud. Jordan and Oakland bother me, Jordan can't catch with the top tier backs. He is fast for a guy his size but he isn't in the elite level of backs at all. He is easily the worst of all the backs mentioned. I'm not fond of Alexander....I knew exactly how he succeeded, terrible inside runner obsessed with cutting to the outside. I wouldn't draft him if I started a new league that is for sure. I'd move him....it may be only a matter of a couple weeks before his value takes a hit. |

If James was still on Indy I'd consider it. You are going to hit huge frustrations pulling this deal out. You need a bigger name on a bigger team in return. |

If I was offered both Cinci Johnson's for Alexander, I'd do it without much hesitation... same would be said for the Smith/Parker deal. I'd opt for the Cinci Johnsons, though, because Smith is nursing those hamstring issues.
