I would only pull the trigger on Trade #3. Dunn is going to get a lot of carries next season now that he's the #1 RB in Atlanta. And Jim Mora Jr. is a man who enjoys the run game.
Do not, do not, do not, DO NOT do any of those other deals. Giving up an ace running back and potential breakout receiver (Trades 1 and 4) are almost never advisable; and Trade 2 has you receive a now questionable Clinton Portis health-wise and a #2 receiver in exchange for a #1 receiver and a #1 back in Tennessee.

Trade 1 I get:Torry Holt,LaMont Jordan,Tatum Bell
He Gets:Shaun Alexander,Plaxico Burress,Kevin Jones First thing to see here is that he's looking for you to give up a RB who set the all time record for TD's (28) in 2005. There is no good reason to do that. Fantasy owners who had Alexander on their team last year often won their league. Plaxico Burress is a talanted WR who will be in his 2nd season with Eli Manning and the Giants offense. Kevin Jones is having a great camp and all signs point to him enjoying a breakout season playing in Mike Martz' system. He's offering you basically nothing for the sky. Be sure to click the correct button when you reject this horrible trade offer. |

Trade 2 I get:Clinton Portis and Amani Toomer
He Gets: Santana Moss and Chris Brown I normally wouldn't advise trading for an injured player, but in this case I suggest that you counter -offer. The man is obviously so nervious about Portis' injury that he's willing to trade him for Chris Brown. Santana Moss is going to have to share balls with Randel El and Brandon Lloyd in Washington. That means he's expendible if you can get enough back. Look at his roster and couple portis with a WR a couple tiers above Toomer. Recognize that your opponent is in Panic Mode and take him to the cleaners by helping him unload a player who is going to be fine. If you can pull this off it might win you a Championship. Especially since, later in the year, you can couple Portis with Alexander for a truely lethal RB combo. |

Trade offers 3 and 4 I'd just shine on. Sounds like you've got a nice core of RB's to start the season with already. That puts you ahead of half the teams already. Nice!
Although Dunn could have a decent year, he's still a RB over 30. Let your opponent deal with the little knicks and dings that Dunn will surely incur. Wait and see what Kevin Jones does in the first month of the season. Here's the thing: This time of year speculation is coming at us from every possible source. Avoid trading before the season starts; it's too easy to tweak yourself right out of contention. Kick back. Adjust the color on your color TV. Practice putting with pine cones. But don't trade the MVP to anyone. |
