Anyone tried ESPN Mobile?

They're touting it as the "fantasy news source" but wouldn't a 3G phone with a browser be able to find the same stuff but only cheaper?

I watched some video on a phone at Best Buy, pretty impressive stuff. As far as getting data goes you're right, you could get most of that stuff from your regular web enabled phone. But I thought it was pretty cool to be able to flip on Sports Center whenever you wanted to and see what's happening.

Yeah that is pretty cool and I was considering it but then figured that a regular phone could get to espn.com anyway. You just won't have the "exclusive" content from their system.

It's actually pretty cool - they push Sportscenter to your phone in 3GP format I guess and it's encoded on the fly. The other stuff is just a "protected" area of their mobile site that I guess feeds off the SIM card ID or something to identify the phone as an ESPN one.

Not sure. I'll have to look into it more if someone would hook me up with one *cough*.

I was just looking at one of the ESPN Mobile phones the other day at Best Buy.

Looks like some neat stuff, but I can't afford it right now.
