college football vs. NFL

I am a big college football fan, and I think theres more pagentry in college than NFL, and its not all about the money, unless you play for USC or OU, but I make a date to watch college games, I will watch everyone of the games, not all of NFL games, and its more exciting, and overtime is so much better, you get excitment from college overtime, NFL you basically decide the game on a coinflip. your thoughts?

I agree about overtime in the NFL. Especially in offensive games where one team battles back, if the other team wins the coin toss then the game is pretty much decided, like in Jacksonville vs. Washington last week.

I am a HUGE fan of college, and am not a fan at all of the NFL.

To me... college players are there for the guts and glory (OK, with a few exceptions). Most of the college players will never make it to the NFL. They are playing because they LOVE the game.

In my opinion.. the NFL is all about blown-up egos and overpaid players.

I, too, am not a fan of the NFL's overtime. After a well-matched game played hard... to have it come down to a coin toss doesn't seem fair at all.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL ALL THE WAY!!!!!!

I prefer college football over professional by quite a bit. There is more passion, tradition and rivalry in college ball.

It's also way more about the game since the players aren't playing for big contracts, they are playing for a spot on the roster and a chance to play the game they love.

I enjoy both College Football and NFL, but I also find college to be more fun to watch. There's just something so much better about it!

I prefer college football by a huge margin. I'm a relatively new convert to college football, at 4 years and counting. I'm a lifelong diehard Canadian hockey fan (GO LEAFS)

My theory as to why college football is more compelling is that there is a wider variety of talent/speed/ability on the field. In college football, Ted Ginn, Jr, can weave his way down the entire field, because hardly anybody in the league can keep up with him. Vince Young dominated the entire league because he was so quick, athletic and very difficult to knock down. Braylon Edwards put up amazing numbers by towering over opposing recievers for easy jump balls.

These things don't happen anywhere near as easily in the NFL. Only the cream of the crop rise to that level, so most players in the league are of close to same speed. Where a player like Mike Hart can ofte push for an extra 4-5 yards after contact at the college level, that simply won't happen in the NFL.

To me, the NFL is a league of grind out yards, short passes, and frequent interruption the flow of the game. I was never interested in football growing up, because I found the NFL to be so slow-paced and boring. I appreciate the game of football now more than back then, and I'm starting to follow the NFL a little more closely now, since I'm familiar with recent NCAA graduates like Chris Perry, Braylon Edwards, Laurence Maroney, Reggie Bush and Vince Young, but I'll always take a Michigan Wolverines game over the Detroit Lions

That just means that every regular season game is important. Since a single regular season loss means dropping from National Title contention, I'm on the edge of my seat for every single Wolverines game for the entire year. Michigan was up 28-7 against Minnesota just over 4 minutes left, but I was still glued to the TV, because I'm well aware of how often teams are able to come up recover the ball with an onside kick.

In the NFL, a 21 point lead in the 4th quarter during the regular season means switching over to a Seinfeld rerun.

I used to love college football alot more but about 6 years ago i started watching pro and have always loved the falcons. So when the Falcons started doing better i got more into pro football, but college football is way better to me for the love of the sport.

I agree about college being the best...

I just love college, I guess it is the idea that they play for the love of playing. You see things, the game with Stanford and Cal...was it a few years ago? You just can't believe what you are seeing. Last year, USC and Texas, everyone is jumping around the room watching games like that. It could be because I don't watch as much NFL. Some players that I have really pulled for in college have gone to the NFL and just gone crazy. Where's the love?

I like both college and NFL. Theres a different feel to both of them though in my opinion. Rivalries are played up more in college IMO than in NFL because there is about playoffs and the superbowl. I get excitement from watching both of them.

Arizona Cardinals College Football vs. NFL

College is by far more energetically played for the simple reason that the players are playing for two reasons, love of the game and a chance to move to the next level. NFL players are overpayed babies that often times only show their true talent during playoffs or key games, not to mention the seemingly endless list of players in trouble with the law, depressed/suicidal, or on juice, great role models for kids eh?? Just my two cents.
