Overtime question

I didn't understand the possesions in overtime for Alabama/Arkansas. Why did they count Alabama's interception as their possession, or did I miss a play somewhere?

I am so glad you asked this question. I was wondering the same thing. I just thought I had misunderstood something. Hopefully someone will answer this one for us.

I have no clue because I wasn't watching it.

I would guess that since they intercepted the ball the game was over... but I dunno without knowing what happened.

Here's what happened. The game was tied 17-17. Arkansas was the first to recieve in overtime. During their possession, they threw and interception. Alabama drove, but missed the field goal. Now we go to the second over time. Did I miss something here? Shouldn't Alabama have recieved BEFORE they went to the second overtime - even if they did get a shot by making the interception?
