There are NO "two best teams" in the country this year. This is not Texas-USC where there was no question as to which two teams were the best. This is worse than last year, which was laughable. Both of these teams can lose this game to any one of 10 other teams.

I think the 2 best teams were OU and UO (with healthy QBs). It's a shame they weren't able to have them when it mattered.
As far as the NC game goes, OSU earned it by only having 1 loss and beating Michigan when they had too. I think Georgia got screwed by the human element. Nebraska didn't win the Big XII but got to play Miami. As it played out it I think it should have been Georgia and OSU, they won the games they had to win late in the season. |

Goose, I have been quacking(no pun intended) all season about the way this was going to come down. All I got was flamed by untold "passers by" for being a kook of some kind. They should just call it the Katrina Bowl(New Orleans is hosting 3 bowls). Do you think there will be enough OSU fans given the opportunity to go to the bowl to cheer for their team, no, they will give the majority of the tickets away to LSU fans for the "home" game.

Thats just New Orleans, I worked in law enforcement in Louisiana back in the 80's. New Orleans has always been a piece of crap and you never want to get off Bourbon Street when the sun goes down. Theres a reason all the homes in the French Quarter have barbbed wire and broken glass sticking out on the top of the walls. It wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit if the whole mess and 3/4 of Florida fell into the ocean. Come on global warming.

This game reminds me so much of the Miami/Ohio St national championship a couple years ago. The only difference is that it's a home game for LSU, which would make an OHIO ST victory all that more intriging.
All that to be said...Ohio St wins in amazing showdown. |

LSU lost twice. Ohio State played 1 good team and got beat, at home. Not much to choose from there. It has been that way for every team in the Top 8 this year. Let's face it. Any Top 8 team could win it all, or could lose to a .500 team on any given day this year.
