So much for expert analysis

I found this quite laughable. The so called experts at Sporting News listed their Bowl predictions. One guy has Ohio State in the NC with Michigan going to the Rose Bowl. Doing the simple math that would mean Ohio State goes undefeated and Michigan would have 3 losses. The possibility of a 3 loss Michigan team getting a Rose Bowl bid is 0%...I really wish these "experts" would a little homework. The Pac-10 needs better bowls, the Holiday and Sun bowls for 2nd and 3rd place are a joke.

well if OSU wins the big 10 but plays in the championship game, then a possible 2nd place michigan team would have to represent the big 10 in the rose bowl. if illinois, wisconsin and michigan don't lose another conference game (assuming michigan will lose to OSU) then who gets 2nd place?

The Rose Bowl is only obligated to take one Pac 10 and one Big 10 participant if the champion of either conference is available. After the title game the Rose Bowl is next in line to pick. If Ohio State (Headed for the National Championship) were to be the representative for the Big 10, the Rose bowl would be free to pick another BCS conference representative presumably at this point Oklahoma. Thats why this guy predicting Ohio State in the National championship and then placing Michigan in the Rose Bowl is so ridiculous.

To be determined after this Saturday.......... Michigan vs. Illinois

But I agree with DD, that is a ridiculous prediction. Michigan is slowly gaining back respect after losing to App State but I highly doubt they see the Rose Bowl again this year. Then again, amid this season, anything is possible...

I think that Michigan could win the Big Ten and get to the Rose Bowl Game. If that were to happen Ohio State would get snubbed by the committee for a either an SEC, Pac 10 or Big East team. There is no way that the Big 10 gets two representatives this season. This scenario reminds me somewhat of 2005 where 10-1 Wisconsin and Oregon both got snubbed due to strength.
