Colt McCoy questionable for Red River Shootout

www.mackbrown-texasfootball.com - Statement regarding Colt McCoy

Not good. He's questionable with a concussion. He does expect to play against them, though.

We have John Chiles, he's a great athlete and can run well, but we don't know on his passing skills. Then we have Sherrod Harris, who is unproven on everything as of now.

Yikes, that isn't good. Texas is gonna need Colt to put put up big numbers this weekend.

On another note, i'm tired of the National media saying that the RRS lost it's luster when Oklahoma and Texas fell. I'm callin BS. To me it's that much more alluring, i think last weekend's losses will have both these teams on their A game. The winner gets back into the NC hunt, the loser joins an ever growing list of also rans. My prediction Texas 38 Oklahoma 34. Hook 'em Horns lol.

Yeah, it's the Red River Shootout. Whoever wins will go on to win the Big 12 south and the big 12, and go to a BCS bowl game, NC or Fiesta Bowl.

Dont look now, that North division is starting to look pretty good. It's possible the Big XII Champion doesn't come out the South this Season.

They're not that good, but they should be in the 20-25 range.

Personally I like the fact he may not play. He has not done that good this year at all and kept below average teams in games with his INTs and just overall crappy accuracy. I say Chiles can be no worse and adds a little something something for the OU defense to worry about.

It's not the offense's fault we let those teams in these games, it's the defense.

Colt throwing TD passes for the wrong teams and killing drives cause he can't seem to get the ball high enough to where it won't get tipped is. Not to mention the horrible accuracy....he can't seem to throw an accurate ball over 10 yards to save his life (I'm over doing it but he's still underthrowing everyone).

I admit the defense is a major problem....but then again it gets a little hard when someone keeps tossing INTs or messing up drives underthrowing WRs constantly.

I agree, he has made some bad throws, but some of that has to do with forcing things and staring down recievers. I don't know what his problems is, but it doesn't help any when the defense can't stop anyone.

McCoy doesn't have the protection or time he had last year to make some throws. It's not on McCoy, He was playing behind a cast last year that was mainly responsible for our National Championship ... and all these rumors about him not playing is false. I heard last nite on the radio that Colt will play.

I think a lot of our woes have to do with the coaching and playcalling. A lot of people tend to forget that Mack is not really a coaching guru but he's one of the best when it comes to recruiting.

Exactly, Jay. Mack doesn't call the plays. He's the CEO of the Texas Longhorns. Greg Davis (**** him) and Duane Akina/Larry MacDuff call the plays.

The biggest risk Greg Davis has ever taken was call a bubble screen play.
