R.I.P. Eddie Robinson

Legendary African American coach Eddie Robinson has just passed away at the age of 88. Robinson the long time former coach of Grambling State amassed over 400 victories in his tenure. Coach Robinson, may you rest in peace and God bless you for all of your contributions to football and society as a whole.

I didnt know much about him, seeing I didnt watch college football under the 1-A level, but from what I hear, he was an amazing coach and an amazing man.

Haven't even heard of him.

He was an Idol at Grambling State, I believe he was the winningest coach in div 1A football before Doug Williams took over at one time. He will be sorely missed

he was in 1-AA but thats beside the point that he retired as the winningest coach at ANY collegiate level until a D-3 coach passed him 18 years later he retired with a record of 408-165-15 record, 17 SWAC championships, 9 Black College National Championships, 8 losing seasons, and sent 200 players to the NFL including Hall of Famers Willie Davis, Charlie Joiner and Doug Williams the only black QB to win the super bowl. in just his second season Grambling went 9-0 and shut-out every opponent

Even more staggering than these stats is one thing...i just heard of him today. i always thought JoePa and Bear Bryant and Bobby Bowden were the winningest coaches in college football. Eddie Robinson has won more than any of them. Its a shame athletes aren't taught about a coach like Eddie Robinson. It shows racism still exists 65 years after Eddie Robinson first coached at Grambling

R.I.P Eddie Robinson may god bless your soul

Eddie Robinson was a good man and coach. But the sad thing is i think i remember hearin about him maybe once or twice before he passed. All we hear about is Bear Bryant and how great he was but i think i would rather have Eddie Robinson(maybe because i hate everything that ever has to do with alabama) but coach Robinson seemed like a great man to be coached by
