Best College QB

Which college quaterback do you think is the best, and why? Also, do they have the potential and drive to be in the NFL? I cannot even begin to decide...probably because I don't follow college ball as much as I used to.

brady quinn, and i base that solely on his stats and hype.

I think Brady Quinn is the Reggie Bush of QB's.. Over-hyped way, way , way too much.

I am looking for a 3-4 loss season out of the Fighting Irish this year.

Chris Leak, he should be able to play in the pros, but probably not a top player.

for the 2007 draft i have seen them ranked like this:

1. quinn, ND
2. d. stanton, Mich ST
3. t. smith, OSU
4. j. palmer, UTEP (carson's brother)
5. c. leak, Florida

top underclassman is:

1. Brian Brohm, Louisville

I'm not so sure Leak will ever be able to play in the pros. He would be a very small NFL QB at a listed height of 6'. I really don't see him making it as a QB at the next level, he may have to go the marcus vick route and try to make it at another position.

I think the concensus is Brady Quinn is the top QB coming into this season but preseason hype becomes moot when the season starts and the games are played.

I really like Brohm and I'm dreading when Miami has to go and play him at Louisville as that will be a tough game for them to win.

drew brees is only 5'10", and he was drafted. i do agree that leak probably won't be an nfl qb though. he has enough athleticism to move to wide receiver though, like hines ward.

Well looks like you are right as Brees is listed at almost exactly the same height and weight as Leak. I still think successful QB's 6' and under are the exception and not the rule in the NFL and I just don't think Leak will be an exception. I Just haven't seen him progress enough as a player at the college level to believe he will become an NFL QB.

Troy Smith will be the best this year. He grew up so much last year culminating in another dominating performance against Michigan and the obliteration of the ND defense.

This will continue.

Tough to say...I like Smith and Quinn. I'd give the slight edge to Smith just because I like his mobility. That doesn't mean he'll put up better numbers than Quinn. I definitely think Quinn will have better numbers because of the targets he has out on the field. I just like Troy Smith as a better all-around QB.

troy smith

troy smith is no doubt the best qb this year.he can do it all, pass with the best of em and run run with best of em.brady quinn is way, way, way, way overrated as is the whole notre dame team. drew tate is 2nd best in the land. chris leak is not consistent enough to be rated higher than 5 or six best in the land.
