This year might be a down year, but you'll be back. Huskers will be 10-2 soon, relax. The days of those 12 win years may be over, but welcome to reality....FSU doesnt win 12 a year any more either. Its part of the game.

It is true that Osborne scheduled all patsy teams and ran up the score. His in conference record was much worse and his bowl record was horrific (something like 8-17).

Your right,12-13 in bowls is correct.
However, the correct number for National Title games is 2-4.
In 1997, Nebraska finished #2 in 3 of the 4 Major polls.
Hence, their win over Tennessee was not a National Championship.
*According the the NCAA's official web site, the NCAA "does not recognize a National Champion in football, but does endorse 4 major polling groups".
So, by the book, y'all finished #2.

To end on a positive note for you, when Joe Paterno is asked who the best coach of all-time was he answers "Tom Osborne".

1997 Michigan (AP),Nebraska (Coaches) I'd rather be considered champion from the coaches poll then the popularity contest so I consider NU #1 in 97'

My top few coaches all-time would be:
1- Bear Bryant
2- Tom Osborne
3- Bowden
4- Paterno
5- Shcembechler

I agree, it's so hard to rank head coaches, heres a few more I'd put on that list Knute Rockne, Bob Devaney, Barry Switzer, Jimmy Johnson, John Heisman, Woody Hayes, and Eddie Robinson.

Personal preference everyone has their own opinion, just look at the polls today, none of it's right.

We play up to great teams, and down to teams that we should be beating the **** out of (talking about Texas). Just flat out embarrassing.
