Jackson accepts Raiders' offensive coordinator job, Russell project

In a somewhat intelligent move, Al Davis has hired Hue Jackson to help develop Russel. The only question is if Russel can become what Jackson did with Joe Flacco, or even if Russel wants to become what Flacco is... I hate hearing things like this, because I really do think that Davis is a coach killer and it's a shame to see good talent get tainted by what appears to be the micro-managment of a crazy old man.

I dont think Russel can be a good QB. Even when he was in college all he had was the big arm. He never made smart choices and never was that accurate.

True, to an extent... But you can't teach "an arm" to anyone, but you can teach signal calling, coverages, hot routes, and that kind of stuff... Not unlike what happened with Vince Young this year (don't get me wrong he's still terrible over all) a player can mature. I'm waiting to see what happens here. Might be interesting... At the very least, this is THE season for Russle as Davis likes instant returns from his investments, so Russle better learn NOW or be gone with little to no interest from anyone after he's done in Oakland...
