Texans Sign Rosevelt Colvin

Campbell: Texans spoil Colt's bid to sign Colvin | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle

Quote:
Training camp is more than a month away, and the Texans already have a victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

The Colts wanted Rosevelt Colvin.

The Texans snatched him from the clutches of Tony Dungy.

No, prevailing in a free-agent skirmish with the Colts doesn't give the Texans the sort of standings cred that a November victory at RCA Dome would. Little victories such as this, though, can lead to bigger ones down the road and at Reliant Stadium alike.
This is a solid signing that adds a pass rushing threat opposite Mario. Rosey can switch from weakside linebacker to playing out of a 3 point stance on the D-line. If he can stay healthy this unit could be a top 10 unit by the end of next season .... EASY

So true the AFC has alot of good teams. As for the NFC they have a limited number of them.

NFC has few good teams?

If you count contending teams from both confrences the AFC would have more. I didn`t say that the Cowboys or Giants suck.

Wrong!
AFC-Pats, Colts,Jags,Chargers,Steelers
NFC-Cowboys,Packers,Giants
And lets not forget Cowboys and Giants are in the same division, plus until they can find a guy to cover Strahans retirement, the loss of Jibril Wilson and Kawika Mitchell their going to be in deep poo.

Do you really believe the AFC will be won by anyone other than the Pats, Colts and Jags? AND I am throwing in the Jags because I am a Jag Homer.

And the NFC will be won by either Dallas or NY. Guaranteed!

AFC (including teams that could surprise ala Giants last year): Colts, Pats, Jags, Steelers, Browns, Chargers
NFC (same as above): Giants, Cowboys, Packers, Bucs (maybe)

No offense, but if you think the BROWNS or BUCS will contend you are sadly mistaken.

Bucs won the division last year, and the Browns are a step away from making it happen really.

And, no offense, but people said the same thing about the Giants last year.

I might could make a case for the Bucs and I like them. Not too sure about the Browns though? Doesnt mean they are the worst team in the NFL, but a SB?

The Bucs a top contender in the NFC? no......hold on.....hell no. far too inconsistant and we saw how they were manhandled by the Giants in the playoffs. the AFC is better. a 3 or 4 seed in the AFC is as good or better than a 1 in the NFC. the Cowboys cant win in the playoffs, just because the Giants won the SB it doesn't make them a true contender. would you say that before this past season? and the packers had one great year after having several mediocre ones. they are not a true contender.

AFC: Pats, Colts, Jags, Chargers
NFC: Cowboys (undeserved), Seahawks (weak division)

I agree with the Bucs being pretenders. They will do nothing next year, but I have to take issue with AFC 3-4 seed = 1 seed NFC. If that were the case the NFC would not have bragging rights this year eh? And I would not overlook the Cowboys this year. They will be there in the end. Wait and see. Seashawks? Uhhh...right.
