its a lot like the one in houston. retractable roof. i wish we were in a bigger market and could have more seats but we wouldn't fill em all every game.

looks like someone is upset they got beat out of the bid
i didn't mean the actual stadium looks like the one in houston. i just meant the roof. the same company made them both. and the stadium is within blocks of downtown indy so the look makes it fit in better than a frilly little stadium ![]()

Congrats to Indianapolis and its fans for getting the Superbowl bid. As someone who lives in Houston, I have to say that I'm disappointed that we didn't get the nod.
Advice to Indy fans... Open a savings account now and put $10.00 a week into it. In 200 weeks, the Superbowl will be here and you'll have the $2000.00 you need to get a really, really crappy seat in the nosebleeds! ![]() That's what I was going to do, but now I don't have to. Heh... ![]() |

i heard today that only 5% of the tickets will be sold to the host city. that would mean about 3,500 tickets. the odds of the average joe getting one is not good. i know what you mean about being bummed out about not getting the bid. last year we lost by a very narrow margin last year by some city in north texas.

Tickets
Getting Superbowl tickets is easy...if you are willing to pay a ticket broker big coin to get them.
Getting tickets at face value directly from the NFL? That's pretty much impossible. |

ESPN - Can't quite warm up to cold-weather Super Bowl - Columnist
Check this out a guy at ESPN arguing that Indy is a terrible place for the Super Bowl and I can't really say that I disagree too much. I am not saying everything he says is right but it sure makes sense.

Yeah...
There's nothing wrong with having a cold weather city host the Superbowl. The Superbowl in Detroit a few years ago went just fine, despite the weather.
I can see the guy's point about it not being much fun for the fans to party in cold weather cities during the vacation planned around the game, but again, people should toughen up and learn to deal. |
