If Schaub stays healthy, this team is bound for the playoffs. Slaton is probably the biggest draft steal since Tom Brady. That might be saying a lot, but he's got it where it counts and when you combine his skill set with Andre Johnson, you've got a one-two punch to rival any offense in the AFC. The defense needs to step up just one more notch and they're going to surprise a lot of teams.

They could win only 2, but all of these games are very winnable. I'm banking on their home success to show up again this year.

Really, @Arizona but lose to Oakland at home.....Odd choice my friend. I see the same record just with those two switched up, and maybe some suprises. I'm starting to watch Houston more and more. They show so much promise. Now just need that step

The Texans sometimes have a sense of complacency when they play inferior opponents so I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Oakland turns out to be a trap game.

Very wishful thinking. It is the same old thing for Houston. Their problem is that they do not know how to win on the road. I can see 5-6 away losses, and certainly a loss to New England at home, unless the game is a meanignless one for New England. In 2007, Kubiak took over and the team finally got to .500. They were on their way. So what happens last year? .500 again. Does this sound like a certain team from the Northern part of New York, near Niagra Falls? You know, the king of 7-9 seasons?

I agree with them being a bad road team but Buffalo's 7-9 was in part due to playing both the West divisions, they didn't even win a game in their own division. So technically speaking, last year the Bills were worst than their record would indicate. Now on the other hand the Texans were coming off a .500 season w/ a soft schedule in 07'. They started the year against Pitt, Tenn, Jax, Ind and a hurricane. Most people forget that they had a bye week in week 2 and had to play 15 games straight to finish the year.

Playing both the North divisions plus the heavyweights in the AFC South was a much more daunting task to accomplish and yet they finished the year strong even after their horrible start. They have a favorable schedule this year, with winnable games on the front end that could very well mean 6-2 or 5-3 before the half. The Texans have never had the privilege of of playing ahead in the latter part of the season which could be the difference between another .500 season or playoffs.

I think 9-7 at best 10-6 with the New England possibly being a freebie. I don't think they can sweep the Jags especially the Jags @ Jacksonville. I can see them beating the Raiders @ Houston, but I don't think you're giving the Jets enough credit. I don't think Houston will be able to put up enough points against that Rex Ryan defense he's got installed up there in New York with Bart Scott.

first game of the year? I doubt that defense would've gelled by then

I can see the Texans making a playoff push this year. Drafting Brian Cushing should definately bolster their D, having him, DeMeco Ryans and Cato June as their LB core could be something in the making. Five of their eight picks in the draft were geared towards their D. If Shaub can hold up, they have some huge weapons on Offense as the league already knows.

10-6 / 11-5 is what i'm calling.

I could see an 8-8 record, depending on how Schuab plays. Also, if Slaton can avoid a sophomore slump.

Everybody will be looking for Slayton this year, they won't have nearly the same success at the RB position. He is good, surprise good, not planned against good. It could leave Andre to having his career season as we know he likes to catch them short. Overall I predict them to have 7 or 8 wins. But I pray for 9 they are in a tough division at a tough time and deserve their first winning season.

New Orleans Saints

They will not have a losing season this year. If they win 10 games I would be shocked though. If they play like they should and avoid the injury bug they should win 9 games or more.
