Garcia officially playing quarterback for the Eagles.
I'm not too familiar with Garcia.. Any thoughts on what this will mean for the game?
![]() INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 22, 2006) -- Quarterback Jeff Garcia will replace Donovan McNabb as Philadelphia Eagles starting night quarterback against Indianapolis. The announcement came during a conference call with Indianapolis reporters. "Once I got the call today, I knew I had to be ready for anything," said Garcia, a former Pro Bowler who the Eagles signed in March. Garcia took over for the injured McNabb during the loss to Tennessee. McNabb is expected to miss the rest of the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the defeat. Coach Andy Reid had not said early this week whether he would use Garcia, who played well in San Francisco, or A.J. Feeley, who was 4-1 as the Eagles' starter in 2002 after McNabb broke his ankle. "I think both are very good, and I've been through this before with A.J. However, I've decided on Jeff, so I feel very good about his ability," Reid said. |

He did have the game of this life against the Colts in 2001 win the Niners thrashed them 40-21 (led to a super famous Mora quote in post-game) Of course that was five years ago and he is not the same player.

That's who I would have gone with. He finished with a 4-1 record, back in the latter part of the 2002 season when Donovan went down. I know that was a long time ago, but Garcia has been a bust the last few years. I think Philly would be better off with AJ.
