Cleveland/Dallas

Cleveland's Defense started mediocre. Them being on the field 70% of the time didn't help this very young defense. Being without Brodney Pool, Josh Cribbs, Donte Stallworth, Joe Jurevicius, Rex Hadnot, and Ryan Tucker didn't give the Browns much of a shot to even compete with a very, very good Dallas team. Marion Barber ran left, right, up the middle, over the top, everywhere. Tony Romo passed all day on a highly unexperienced secondary. Not to take anything away from Dallas at all, their whole team looked 6 weeks into the season. Also, Romeo goes for a field goal on 4th&3 down by 21? 10 minutes to go and Dallas took that entire clock down. They went for a 4th&1 to end the game. We couldn't go for a 4th&3 to try and stay in the game. Romeo.....I'm not even going to start on him because that is not a good call at all, he looked like he didn't even want to win. All he wanted was that cheeseburger at the end of the game. Crennel has no marbles, how can you be a coach in the NFL like that? Braylon Edwards should follow Chad Ocho Cinco, and change his name to Braylon Drops Alot. Kellen Winslow was a stud but was only thrown to in the beginning of the game. No experience in the secondary, no depth at wide reciever. Anderson didn't do bad. This team still has a long ways to go before it can be a primetime team. I am not looking forward to playing PIT next week at all. We need a pass rush, some kind of a secondary vet, and something going on offense. PIT's D absolutly demolished Houston, I see that happening to us next week. I hope I am wrong.

Well the Browns looked crappy, but when ur missing several starters including 3 WRs (Stallworth, Cribbs, Jurevicius) and you only have Syndric Steptoe & Steve Sanders both were practice squad WRs who had to go up against the tough Dallas D in their first NFL action is calling for trouble. Hopefully next week they'll be healthy and ready to go and I still believe will give Pit a run for their money and possibly end up with the W. Their D needs to gel if they ever plan on being serious playoff contenders, but hey it's only Week 1, they don't play 16 games for no reason.

Yes they were missing some good players on offense and special teams.
But questions going into this season was about the defense. And today's preformance not only had me still questioning it, but yet thinking that they have actually gotten worse on defense.
The offense looked average as mentioned before they might this whole season. Key is that even once you get those missing player back, Cleveland will still be 8-8 or even worse with that kind of defense no matter what.

believe me our defense is better from last year....barber would have had 150yds in the 1st half if last years d was in there.

Now Pit looked pretty good 2day but the Texans also looked that bad which kind of evens it out....i should say schaub looked that bad. I think next week is the true test in the afc north..heck the AFC after seeing SD & JAX both loose and Brady going down for probably the season. I think the AFC is wide open now and just about everyone has a chance for a playoff spot except KC, CIN, MIA, BAL, & prob OAK. Next week should be a good mathup if both teams are injury free.

Well if the Browns give Roethlisberger as much time as they gave Romo today it will be a complete blow out. Which is not that crazy, even though I know alot of so called "football experts" a.k.a scrubs to me, might say Romo is better than Roethlisbeger... which is totally insane. MVP of last season, minus the BRADY TO MOSS connection was clearly Roethlisberger.
Next week I see a competitve game early on, then Steelers pull away big time late.

Who ever said it was solid? It has the talent, but not the experience.

You haven't seen Oakland play so how could you rule them out already? They had key pick ups in the off season.

I think it will be the type of game they had in the 2nd game last season.

that defensive line was getting owned by our O-line, I am not sure that our O-line is that good or those guys (Rogers) are just overrated. Edwards' butterfingers throughout the game didn't help yalls cause with the shortage on WRs. He looked like Crap. KWII was a beast and owned our defense.

I thought the officiating was aweful... I am usually the last to complain but the calls were extremely one sided in favor of the Browns. The score should have been 42-3. total BS calls kept the Brown's TD drive alive on 2 failed 3rd conversions. Cleveland gets away with a helmet to helmet that left Romo with stiches and T.O gets a 31 yard 1st catch negated for knocking the defenders hands off of him.

Cleveland may not be as good as everyone thinks this year... I know that offense is better than they showed due to injuries, but that defense is extremely suspect.

I predict Steelers ownage next week... they probably hand it to them worse than the Cowboys did.

1. i said prob OAK
2. An inexperienced QB that has absoluely terrible WRs that's why. They'll be average at best

1 game and the Browns are bad again...samething last year...we got destroyed week one last year and everything looked terible and the Browns were probably thought of as the worst if not one of the worst teams in the NFL and then look what happened, they went 10-6. By saying that the Browns getting beat by arguably the best team in the NFL, than the Chargers and Colts and Jags are going defeated since they all lost to average to above average teams?

I didn't say they were bad again, I am just not sure that draft you traded away for the defensive players is all it's cracked up to be. I think your offense is still outstanding, and acknowledged the fact you were missing your 2 and 3 WRs helped us tons. I question Clevelands ability to play defense... which is what kept yall out of the playoffs last year. You also have a tougher schedule this year, I think yall are a bubble team and it might come down to a tie breaker to get in.

I didn't think the trade for Shaun Rodgers was worth it for the Browns, they guy takes too many plays off. He's on the sideline getting oxygen or he's not going full-steam whenever he's on the field, he shows up for one or two big plays every now and then but takes too many of them off. If I were the Browns I would have rather made a play for Albert "Step on Yo' Face" Haynesworth.

Haynesworth is probably the best DT in the game... dude was in the defensive player of the year talk last year and wasn't even healthy. You are exactly right on Rodgers... the only thing that has kept him in the NFL is his size, he takes up blockers just by standing up. If you have bad arse LBs behind him or a great DE he is a compliment if not you will see just how overrated he is.
