I know there's lots of Pats fans in the Maritimes. I don't know how many are on this site.
If you're from the Maritimes (that's Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI), are you aware of Atlantic Lottery's online pool? It's going for the first 7 weeks of the season. You pick Sunday's winners straight up (no spread). The overall winner after week 7 wins a trip to see the Bears in New England! I've never had the pleasure of seeing an NFL game live, let alone the Pats. After week 4, I'm tied for 2nd (with 6 others) one point behind the leader. I went against the Pats this week or else I'd be tied for first After last week's debacle, I just couldn't pick them over the Bengals. Anyway, I'll keep you abreast on my goal to win this thing over the next 3 weeks. I'll take any advice you have to heart for picking the tough games, even if you're in the pool Week 5 games I'm unsure of: Wash. vs NYG NYJ vs Jacksonville Oakland vs SF (YIKES!) i think the Raiders... Pitts vs SD |

However, the guy in first went 13 for 13 with a number of others. So, now we have the leader with 54 pts., 2 at 53 and 3 of us at 52 with two weeks to go. At least next weeks picks are more difficult, so it will be the week I have to make my move. I won't look at making the picks until Friday. |

I'll bold the games I'm unsure of, but feel free to comment on any. Buffalo over Detroit (for sure) Baltimore over Carolina (not 100% on this one yet) Cincy over TB (for sure) Dallas over Houston Atlanta over NYG Philly over NO (McNabb is too damn hot!) Seattle over ST. Louis I'm at 90% on this one... Washington over Titans (I think the Titans will win soon tho' and maybe this game) Pitts. over KC (I can't see the Steelers going to 1-4) Miami vs Jets?? I think I have to go with the Jets. Miami can't score and lost to Houston! SD over SF Denver over Oakland Chicago over Arizona |

Well the hardest game IMO is Baltimore/Carolina...I would lean towards Carolina but it's really a toss up... Pitts over KC Jets over Miami Seattle over Rams Wash over Tenn Also watch out for Philly/NO game and ATL/NYG games...I agree with your pick on these games but Westbrook needs to play for Philly and ATL could go into the tank anyday because of Vick's inconsistent play...Saying that I would still go with ATL... |

Still 2 back, so all the leaders had 6. If I had taken the Panthers like you said and went with my gut with Tenessee I'd be tied for the lead Well, still an outside chance. One week left. I'm going to have to go with a couple of underdogs to stand a chance. Stay tuned. |

Well, here goes nothing. I'm thinking I need to pick 3 or 4 'upsets'.
If I'm the guy in the lead or only 1 point back, I stick with pretty much all of the favourites. But I gotta diversify, so: Carolina over Cincinatti - not a huge upset, but the Bengals have to be favoured in this game. Green Bay over Miami *SHRUG* Atlanta over Pittsburgh Jets over Detroit Jags over Houston Patriots over Bills (of course) Eagles over Bucs Chargers over KC (this is one I'm thinking of changing, but SD's defence is so stingy...) Broncos over Browns Cards over Raiders Vikes over Seattle - with Alexander still out, Minny has a good shot. Indy over Washington - I want to say this is Indy's first loss, but I just can't take that leap. I know NOBODY else in the leader pack will be picking Washington. Dallas vs. Giants. - still a tossup. I'm leading towards the Cowboys. I'm making my picks tomorrow (Thursday) as I'm heading out of town. I'll gladly accept any insight you may have before making my final decisions. Cheers NOTE* - I made my picks. Ended up just going with gut feelings. They're in red. Last edited by Pat Riots : 10-19-2006 at 12:35 PM. |

I would have made the same pick, maybe taken a chance and picked Miami over Green Bay... I think Pittsburg will be Atlanta and I would have to go with the Giants over the Boys...1 upset pick's Minnesota over Seattle(which you picked)...Looks good... |

Oh well, the pool changes to hockey for next week. Maybe I'll have better luck there. Cheers. |
