New England Patriots Tom Brady's 211.1 QB rating?!?!?

As many of you know, Brady posted a perfect QB rating of 158.333 against the dolphins back in week 7. Namely, he threw for 21/25, 354 yds, 6 TDs and no INTs. I was dilly-dallying around online and found the formulas for calculating that silly qb-rating they are always blathering about. check it out: Passer rating - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia . Nonetheless, i was messing around with the formulas and found that if you lift the (2.375) restriction from each category, the QB rating for Brady in this game was an unspeakable

****211.1****

Needless to say, this is amazing, and I would say this is the greatest single game performance ever by a QB. Thus, I challenge everyone out there to try to find a higher rating (min of 20 attempts) in a single game under this new unrestricted rating system(its not that hard to figure out!!!). The highest i could find was in manning's 04 game where he through 6 TD's, it came out to like 177...pathetic. LOL. Good luck...

There is a reason many people hate Tom Brady and it was evident at the end of that Colts and Pats game, afterthe second to last kneel down you could see the idiot mouthing off at the Colts D. That is what we call unsportsmanlike and he should have gotten knocked in the mouth for it. And that my friends is one of many reasons why people hate pretty boy Brady.

I could really care less about his personality, I am honoring him for the great PLAYER he is... not his gentleman-like manners. KEEP LOOKING!!!

by the way, if you want to post stats, i can run them through my spreadsheet and post back the "unrestricted" QB rating...

It doesn't matter how high his numbers are, I will never like or respect him.

Actually he was mouthing off to an official, you were not paying attention.
He never once looked at a Colt during that tirade.
Some people hate Brady only because their team has no chance against his team.

I don't hate Brady, I just hate Belicheat because he's an arrogant, self righteous SOB and he has no respect for the game.

I actually dont like Belicheck so much either, he was not responsible for all that talent, yet he gets credit fo it. His career record without Brady is abysmal.

why must we bicker?

So i understand the controversy over who does/doesn't like Tom Brady. GET OVER IT. People disagree, we know the viewpoints, it doesn't matter. Let's discuss it objectively, and respond to this thread as to whether or not this was the greatest single game performance of all time - THANK YOU DEARLY

Tom Brady

His rating is only 211? The smile alone must be worth 200. Those eyes. The chin. He's tall. Sweet. Boyish deep voice. I wont go below the neck, it would disturb you boys and I would need to take a few minutes alone if I thought about it too much. I'd say his rating is at least 300.

I'm fairly sure Mcnabb could have pulled it off against Detroit if his coach was a jack*** too lol. What was Mcnabbs rating that game? I know it was perfect by the "restricted" version.

I don't hate Tom Brady, I just despise tools that going around posting non-relevant Brady man-love in threads that are about the Saints or Cowboys. I am not saying any names...

That being said, Tom Brady is quickly making a strong case to not only go down as the best QB in the modern NFL, but maybe of all time. He is truely unbelievable and you Patriot fans are lucky to have him. Take time to enjoy his play, as I Cowboy fan I can attest to this, once he's gone you'll miss him and it may take years to replace him.

Mcnabb, week 3 vs Detroit = 181.7

very nice example Roy_Williams318 , can't believe i forgot about that one, i watched the game!! LOL, well he came close at 181.7 unrestricted, and i want to point out that had his coach left him in the rating likely would not have changed greatly, since all of the statistics are based on ratios (ie touchdowns/attempts). For instance, if his next throw was a 90 yard bomb for a touchdown, his rating still would have been just 205.7, so a shift up to 211 would be quite unlikely based on his statistics throughout the game thus far.

Thanks again
Roy_Williams318

any other ideas?

Manning vs the Lions november 25th 2004, he had 6 TD passes on like 18 completions on 21 attempts and 254 yards

I remember Rich Gannon completing a record setting 30 something straight passes against Denver 6 or 7 years ago. I'm not sure what his passer rating was but that might be one to look into if you have the time.
