more rumors than Elvis sold records

i don't think steve spurrier would ever go to miami. not in the shape they're in. i think spurrier is happy at south carolina. but he could be taken away. right now all the rumors in alabama is of mike shula leaving & they have been talking to spurrier. nobody will know what's going on until the season is over for obvious reasons. i'd hate to see bama go thru another coaching change & i like shula. but something has to be done here. but i'd love to see spurrier at bama. i'd even buy a visor. which beats those sweaters franchone wears. i spent the last few days in tennessee, & the rumor there is fulmer may be gone. & one guy i talked to lived next to spurrier when he played high school ball. he says spurrier is coming back home to tennessee. so i guess it seems spurrier is the hot topic right now. is in big demand, can only be in one place. can only take one job. or keep the one he has, that he is happy with. but spurrier has talked with alabama. that's from a guy that was in the meeting.

keep me posted on that, i'm interested to see what all the hype is going on, my advice to spurrier would be stick it out in so car. and make this program emerge.however, this tennessee job may be a once in a lifetime gig, so, he might jump at it...he's got a good offensive mind---

ok. spurriers agent was on a local radio show yesterday. it seems there is rumor that nick saban was contacted by alabama & is interested in the job at bama. saban has the same agent as spurrier. i'll say this as close as i can the way he said it. he heard this rumor that alabama was talking with nick saban & with steve spurrier. i can promise you that there has been no contact between saban & univeristy of alabama of any kind. saban & don shula are very close friends & there has been no contact in this. i have no idea where that rumor came from & it's not true. so forget about saban coming to alabama. that's pretty much all that was said on the matter. so we know saban isn't coming. notice there was nothing said about spurrier's rumor not being true. all he said was there was a rumor of it & then went on to saban. so it seems it may be possible he's been contacted by bama. when spurrier went to SC he contacted ex- assistant bill oliver & tried to get him to go to SC with him. yesterday i got a call from a man who is on the sideline of every bama game. he said he just got word that as of monday shula is gone. this may add to the spurrier story. but every coach that has come & gone in the past few years, until the day it all happened, has had no contact with the team or isn't going or something. until it happens. just ask franchoine. it seems quiet, nothing from spurrier. or his agent. i'd love seeing spurrier at bama. i will buy a visor. i hate to see shula go in one sense. bama needs to be settled on a coach & leave it alone. but the past years haven't shown much. he'd leave with $4million. which was referred to by the agent as chump change. shula is a good man. needs to open up a bit & take advise from others. ray perkins is still pushing to keep shula, who has a lot of pull in bama. so it seems we'll just wait & see.

one other thing, i'm sure nobody wants to see spurrier go to bama. it'd be too much to BEAR. uh. bare. all the auburn fans want to see shula stay. don't know why. lol
