The
New York Giants and New Orleans Saints have agreed in principle to a trade that will send tight end Jeremy Shockey to New Orleans for second and fifth-round picks in 2009, NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports.
The veteran tight end has played his entire six-year career with the Giants, earning four trips to the Pro Bowl.
Shockey spent the entire offseason rumored to be moving and reportedly clashed with the team over his role in the offense.
Shockey broke his leg in Week 15 last season and missed the Giants' postseason run that ended
with a win over the
New England Patriots in
Super Bowl XLII.
