This rivalry creates tension between friends and family. I also attend college at Central Michigan which is near lansing, and the rivalry between Michigan and Michigan State is N O T H I N G compared to the OSU-UM rivalry. True Blue fans hate the Buckeyes, and to say it's not one of the top 5 rivalries in ALL of sports is a false statement. Almost every year it comes down to these two teams in the Big Ten, and that's what makes it so special.

The UM-MSU rivalry is no longer as big because the schools are on different levels now. Perhaps not this year because Michigan is in a transition year, but the difference is, State plays each year to beat Michigan. Michigan plays to win National titles and win the big ten, which always goes through Columbus, hence the storied rivalry!
