Vikes reached on Derrick Alexander instead. Brady was at least one of the best blocking TEs in football and a servicable receiver. Alexander was never more than just an adequate player (the kind you have in there only until you can get a quality one to take his place).
To think, had a chance at having a Sapp-Randle duo at DT...
Of course, the Vikes passing on Sapp because of his failed drug test and seeing what a mistake that was lead to them not making that same mistake when Moss fell to them a few years later.

Alexander was a good receiver for the Grbac-era Chiefs. But the Grbac-era Chiefs are something we do not talk about.
